Turn Experience Into Profit

Giving Lateral Moves

Effect on Tradespeople?

A Strategic Career Pivot

Mission Statement

At the heart of our mission is a belief that tradespeople—mechanics, operators, and technicians—deserve more than the daily grind. We exist to educate and empower them to rise as highly knowledgeable consultants, capable of guiding both buyers and sellers through ethical, transparent, and value-driven equipment transactions. By bridging the gap between hands-on expertise and professional consulting, we enable tradespeople to take control of their futures and redefine their careers with purpose and agency.

We are here to be the change the industry has been asking for—to build a new path forward where skill meets strategy, and experience becomes influence.

How One Lane Education Empowers Mechanics to Control Their Destiny

At One Lane Education, we don’t just train—we transform. Our program is designed to give heavy-duty mechanics the tools, knowledge, and confidence to transition from the physical demands of the trade to a high-value consulting and transactional role in the heavy equipment industry.

Rather than continuing to pull wrenches, lift heavy components, or endure challenging work environments, graduates of our program gain the ability to leverage their years of hands-on experience in a new, more strategic way.

Stop trading hours for a wage. One Lane Education shows heavy-duty mechanics how to transition from an hourly or daily rate to a fee-based income model, where they control the deal—not just the tools.

Mechanics can now:

  • List and broker multiple pieces of heavy equipment.

  • Create multiple streams of income without the grind.

  • Elevate their career through broker-level training to manage and mentor others.

  • Build a personal agency brand in the heavy equipment world.

This isn’t about leaving the trade—it’s about owning your space in it.

At One Lane Education, we understand that starting over isn't an option—and it shouldn't have to be. Our course is built to give tradespeople the ability to make lateral career moves without losing the years of experience, knowledge, and credibility they’ve earned in the field.

Rather than abandoning their trade, our students redirect their expertise. The skills that once helped them diagnose, repair, and operate machinery now position them as transactional professionals who understand value, performance, risk, and buyer needs better than any outsider ever could.

What This Means for Tradespeople

  • No Starting Over – Every hour worked and every machine repaired becomes the foundation for this new consulting role.
  • Respect Earned, Not Reset – Their history in the trade is their greatest asset, not a relic of a past career.
  • Credibility That Transfers – Customers trust those who’ve lived the work, not just studied it.
  • New Avenues Without the Pay Cut – Instead of dropping to entry-level wages in a new industry, they build a business on their existing credibility and network.

Our education doesn’t push tradespeople away from what they know—it pulls them forward into new territory where their knowledge is more valuable than ever. They gain the freedom to consult, represent, and transact on behalf of both buyers and sellers, all while staying grounded in the world they’ve mastered.

We call it progress without loss—a way to grow without giving up everything that got them here.

What We Offer:
A New Lane Forward

  • 100% Career Control – Mechanics move from being operational to being transactional, gaining autonomy as consultants and agents in the buying and selling of heavy equipment.
  • No Need to Leave the Industry – Our education empowers tradespeople to stay in the field they know and love, but at a new, elevated level.
  • Real-World Agency Training – We teach mechanics how to ethically and transparently broker deals, delivering high-value guidance to buyers and sellers alike.
  • Built on Respect & Credibility – Who better to guide an equipment purchase than someone who has actually run, repaired, and rebuilt that same machine?

Why it Matters

    • Mechanics become trusted advisors, not just skilled laborers.
    • They earn more respect and potential income without the physical strain.
    • They create opportunities—for themselves, their families, and their communities—by becoming educators, consultants, and brokers.

At One Lane Education, we believe mechanics deserve more than just a job. They deserve a career path with options, built on the skills they’ve spent years mastering. This is education that turns experience into freedom.

Meet the Team

Marc Aubin
Founder

I’ve spent much of my life around machines—selling them, moving them, fixing them, and helping others do the same. Over time, one thing became increasingly clear: tradespeople know the equipment better than anyone, yet they’re rarely the ones profiting from the transaction.

That needed to change.

One Lane Education was created to open a new door for people who’ve built their careers with their hands and now want to build wealth with their knowledge. This isn't a course—it’s a shift in mindset. We’re here to help mechanics, technicians, and operators move from operational to transactional by teaching them how to become equipment brokers.

Growing up in Northern Alberta, I’ve walked in steel-toed boots and sat across the table from decision-makers. I know what it feels like to be burnt out, underpaid, and wondering what’s next. That’s why One Lane exists—to give you a clear, guided path to your next chapter, using the skills you already have.

This isn't theory. It's proven. We've trained everyday tradespeople to close real deals and build income through equipment brokerage—without quitting their current job or going back to school.

If you’re ready to stop working harder and start working smarter, you’re in the right place.

See you in the lane.

Colette Aubin

I’m driven by the excitement of creating opportunities and building meaningful connections. Originally from a small town, I’ve adapted to the hustle and energy of city life, where I’ve spent the last 30 years navigating both entrepreneurship and family life. My husband, Marc, and I have raised four wonderful children, and together, we’ve built a legacy of hard work and mutual support.

For over 25 years, I’ve been Marc’s partner in both life and business, bringing my passion for organization and efficient systems to the table. As Chief Administration Officer at One Lane Education, I focus on ensuring the smooth running of our day-to-day operations, from integrating new students to optimizing our internal systems. I’m here to make sure our team stays on track and that everyone who joins us has a seamless experience.

What excites me most is empowering people to take the next step in their careers—helping them transition from skilled tradespeople to successful brokers. It’s incredibly rewarding to be part of that transformation.

Outside of work, I enjoy a little downtime—whether it’s spending time with family, seeking out new culinary experiences, or enjoying the rare moments when I can sit down and relax.

I look forward to our journey together.

Joining One Lane Education felt less like starting a new job and more like stepping into a legacy. With a foundation in logistics, I brought a systems-focused mindset to a business that’s constantly adapting and growing. It’s been exciting to help shape that momentum from the inside out.

As Operations Coordinator, I manage a blend of logistics, communications, and marketing efforts to keep our team aligned and moving forward. The best part? Working in a setting where family values and professional drive go hand in hand. Every day is about progress—with people I trust, in a business that matters.
